Having completed her fellowship training in breast surgery Catherine D. Carruthers, MD FACS joined the Comprehensive Breast Care Associates in August, 2007. Dr. Carruthers' completed her breast fellowship training from Bryn Mawr Medical Center. It was during her fellowship training that Dr DuPree and Dr Krisher recognized how tremendously gifted Catherine was as a surgeon. More importantly, they watched her demonstrate true compassion for the patients that she treated. Dr Carruthers was an instant success in her new practice, and her reputation in the community has spread far and wide.

She is a graduate from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She then completed her five year surgical residency in June, 2006 from the Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Alabama. She knew coming out of her residency training that she wanted to devote her career to providing the best care possible for women and men on their journey the treatment of their breast cancer.

Dr Carruthers is loved by her colleagues and staff and is known for her dry sense of humor and infectious laugh. She is a phenomenal addition to the practice.

Catherine’s dedicated compassionate care for patients and state-of-the-art training in breast care allows her to join the Comprehensive Breast Care Surgeons team.

She is a dedicated wife and mother of a beautiful daughter and two sons.
